Rare fossils discovered nearly a decade ago in Organ Cave have finally been identified as the remains of ancient shark fin spines by the National Park Service (NPS). The find is significant because it represents one of only a handful of shark fossils found in the United States and is believed to belong to a time before the dinosaurs.
