Steven Dale Patterson, 53, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014, at his residence in Williamsburg, WV.
Born April 30, 1961, in Germany, he was a son of Jimmy Dale Patterson of California and the late Helen Judy McCormick. He was raised by his stepfather, Richard “Mack” McCormick of Petersburg, VA.
Steve was a self-employed handyman, was a member of Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church in Williamsburg, was a member of the Williamsburg Ruritan Club, loved tending his garden, and dearly loved his many cats.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Patterson.
In addition to his father and stepfather, Steve is survived by two half sisters, Debbie Bumgardner and husband, Benny, of Renick, WV, and Mary McCormick of Lewisburg, WV; a half brother, Richard McCormick of Asbury, WV; and his special adopted family, Litz Jarvis and husband, Bill, of Williamsburg and Amy Wade of Lewisburg.
In keeping with Steve’s wishes, he will be cremated, and a memorial service is being planned for the Fourth of July weekend.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the Williamsburg Rescue Squad in his memory.
