Myrtle Reeder, 95, of Golden Living Center, Moorhead, MN, died there on Monday, June 2, 2014.
She was born July 21, 1918, in Neola, WV, to Ernest and Jacqueline Ritchie Boggs.
She grew up and attended school in Neola. Myrtle married Joe Heinze, and they made their home in White Sulphur Springs, WV; he later died.
Myrtle married Gerald Reeder in Ohio in 1956, and they lived in Tipp City, OH, where she worked as a CNA.
Gerald died on February 6, 1982. She moved to Glyndon, MN, and went to work at the Golden Living Center in Moorhead, where she worked until retiring at the age of 76, then volunteered there for eight years after retirement.
During her time at the Golden Living Center, she trained many CNAs.
Myrtle was a life member of the Daughters of America and also a life member of May’s Chapel Methodist Church in Neola. She attended the Glyndon Congregational Church during her time in Glyndon.
She is preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Virginia Bahls (Gary Sr.) of Glyndon; brother, James Edgar Boggs of White Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Jeffrey Bahls (Connie) of Eatonton, GA, Jason Bahls (Susan) of Dilworth, MN, Tammy Bahls of Fargo, ND, Terry Bahls (Bebe) of Glendale, AZ, and Gary Bahls Jr. (Beth) of Arizona City, AZ; many great-grandchildren; and many stepchildren, including Helen Ganger of Troy, OH, and Tom Reeder of Old Town, FL.
Memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014, from 9-10 AM at the Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. Memorial services will begin at 10 AM at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Roger Maris Cancer Center in memory of Myrtle’s great-granddaughter, Marcella Ann Bahls.
