Frank Curry Hunter Jr., 70, of Ronceverte, WV, went home to be with the Lord and his wife and sweetheart of 50 years, Janet Arlene Booth Hunter, on Friday, May 16, 2014. He was born May 16, 1944, in Covington, VA, the son of the late Frank C. Hunter Sr. and Shirley Mae Atkins Hunter.

Frank retired as a long haul truck driver after many years of service. He was a former employee of Hercules Inc. in Covington. He was also a lifelong proud and active patriot, involved in recent years with the Southern West Virginia Tea Party.

Frank was a devoted husband, son, and loving father who was dedicated to being a good provider. He very reluctantly retired due to illness, but continued to be as active as his health allowed. He had a passion for politics and a greater passion for reading his Bible and knowing and talking to others about Jesus. He was very concerned for his country and people’s souls.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet, in 2010; grandson, Jon Adam Hunter; a brother, James Allen Hunter; and a sister, Linda Amos.

Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Rick Hunter and wife, Brenda, of Fairlea, WV, Frank C. Hunter III and wife, Cheryl, of Princeton, WV, Chris Hunter and wife, Jennifer, of Caldwell,WV, and Marc Hunter and wife, Jill, of Union, WV; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa Koon and husband, Terry, of Lewisburg, WV, and Debi Fraley and husband, Howard, of White Sulphur Springs, WV; 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary

Helen Pirtle and husband, Jim, of Louisville, KY; two sisters-in-law, Delores Crawford and husband, Al, of Sinks Grove, WV, and Opal Ash of Maxwelton, WV; one brother-in-law, Daryol Booth and wife, Becky, of Covington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. The service will be conducted Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 3 PM at the graveside in Johnson Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Terry L. Koon officiating.

The family will receive their friends from 1 PM until 2:30 PM on Saturday at Arritt Funeral Home in Covington before the service.

The online guestbook is available at arrittfuneralhome.com.

Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
