The National Weather Service has extended the Flood Warning for Greenbrier County until 4:00 p.m.
The new alert states that “at 12:50 p.m. EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicate that rainfall has ended. However, runoff from between two and three inches of rain that fell overnight continues to collect in creeks and rivers across much of Greenbrier County.”
Locations that will be impacted include Rainelle, Alderson, Rupert, Quinwood, Renick, Williamsburg and Falling Spring. Rivers impacted are the Greenbrier River, Meadow River, Boggs Run, and Sewell Creek. It is expected that these rivers will continue to rise steadily this afternoon.
