YATES

Tommy “Porkchop” Yates left us on February 4, 2021 to be with our heavenly father, with his wife and oldest daughter by his side, following a hard fought battle with liver cancer, at Peyton Hospice House.

Tommy was born on August 20, 1965 in Greenbrier County to Ray and Hilda Yates. He was an avid hunter and a die-hard Mountaineer and Brad Keselowski fan. He enjoyed his annual hunting camp trips with his buddies, camping at Bristol with his camping family, spending time with his children, and baby pup, Maci. All he wanted in life was to have a family and a life full of love.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Laurie Yates; his children, Ashley (her husband, Ian), Brandon, Tyler, Ryan, and Brooke; grandchildren; his sister, Debra Lynn; brother-in-law, Mike Snedeger; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ray Yates; his mother, Hilda Yates and her companion, Steve Walkup; sister, Lynne Snedeger; and brother, Robert Lee Yates.

Due to Covid-19 guidelines, the visitation on Saturday, February 6, 2021, was limited to family from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at McCraw Funeral Home in Lewisburg. A graveside service followed at 2 p.m. to include all who wished to attend at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, 2 Deerfield Rd. Lewisburg, WV (Caldwell) with dinner following graveside service at Enon Baptist Church on Vago Road, Frankford. (If anyone would have liked to bring a dish, they were to please contact Leslie or Betty.)

Per Tommy’s wishes, pallbearers were Cannonball Loudermilk, Junior Loudermilk, Brandon Loudermilk, Eric Spencer, John Burns, JohnAllen Burns, and Pudge Spencer.

If anyone had pictures they would have liked to include in the Slideshow, they were to please send them to Ashley Johnson.

Tommy’s circle of friends was incredibly large, and he was loved by so many. He had a heart of gold.

Tommy requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations of sympathy should be made to his Little Princess Aubree Sue’s all-star cheer account at Cheer Revolution, PO Box 147, Beckley, WV 25802.

McCraw Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of the arrangements.
