Two Greenbrier County libraries have announced new curbside service due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in the county.
Greenbrier County Public Library
Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, even more so around the holidays and for the safety of all, staff and patrons, the Greenbrier County Public Library will be going to curbside service only effective Dec. 29.
Curbside service will be available Tuesday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Keep in mind the library is scheduled to be closed for the holidays; Dec. 24-28 and Jan. 1-4.
Even though patrons cannot access the building to browse or use public access computers they can: call for book pick-up and holds, place remote holds, take advantage of our Wi-Fi and Kids Connect in the parking lot, use digital services through WVREADS and WVInfoDepot.org, get a library card remotely, call for inter-library loans, peruse the free book cart on the porch (do not return materials to this cart — please place in book return at the beginning of the sidewalk), schedule or walk up for copies or fax, and make an appointment for passport application acceptance.
Patrons can email documents to the library for printing, just call the circulation desk at 304-647-7568 for the email address. Also, no fines will be charged during this time. The COVID-19 situation will be reviewed on Jan. 8 with the possible reopening date of Jan. 12. The overall goal is to provide a safe environment for all.

White Sulphur Springs Public Library
The White Sulphur Springs Public Library is returning to curbside service only. Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, even more so around the holidays and for the safety of all, the White Sulphur Springs Public Library will be going to curbside service only.
The service becomes effective Monday, Dec. 28. Curbside service will be available Monday – Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Keep in mind the library is scheduled to be closed Jan. 1 for the New Year’s Day holiday.
Even though patrons cannot access the building to browse or use public access computers they can: call for book pick-up and holds; place remote holds; utilize our Wi-Fi and Kids Connect in the parking lot; use digital services through WVREADS and WVInfoDepot.org; get a library card remotely; call for inter-library loans; peruse the free book cart (please do not return materials to this cart – please place in book return); have materials copied, faxed, or notarized.
Patrons can email documents to the library for printing, just call the circulation desk at 304-536-1171 for the email address.
No fines will be charged during this time.
The library’s COVID-19 situation will be reviewed at the Library Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday, Jan. 7, at 6 p.m. with the possible reopening date of Jan. 9. The library’s overall goal is to provide a safe environment for all.

Ronceverte Public Library
On Saturday, Dec. 26, the Ronceverte Public Library announced that they will be resuming curbside service this week.
In a post on social media, library officials said, “Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and more so around the holidays, and for the safety of all staff and patrons, the Ronceverte Public Library will be going to curbside service only, effective Monday, Dec. 28, 2020. Curbside service will be available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.”
The library will be closed for the New Year’s holiday on Thursday, Dec. 31 and Friday, Jan. 1.
The library also released the following information: “Even though patrons cannot access the building to browse or use public access computers, they can: call for book pick-ups and holds, place remote holds, take advantage of our Wi-fi and Kids Connect in the parking lot, use digital services through WVREADS and WVinfodepot.org, get a library card remotely, call for inter-library loans, schedule or walk up for copies or fax, or if you need help accessing any of these services. Patrons can email documents to the library for printing. Just call the circulation desk at 304-647-7400 for the email address. Also, no fines will be charged during this time. [ ] (on) Fridays, beginning Jan. 8, we will open from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for curb services. Our COVID-19 situation will be reviewed Jan. 8 with the possibility of reopening with full services as of Jan. 12. Our overall goal is to provide a safe environment for all.”
