LEWISBURG (WVDN) – As temps take a dive this week, and we dig in our closets for our warmer coats, we have another opportunity to be thankful that we are warm and cozy this holiday season.

Unfortunately, not everyone is as fortunate, and Jim’s Drive-In is making sure that everyone who needs a warm winter coat can get one.

All winter long, Jim’s Drive-In has a 24-hour coat rack set up near the building, and anyone is welcome to take a coat or leave one for someone else.

Lynn Massie, who owns Jim’s Drive-In with her family, says this is the fourth year that the popular restaurant has done the coat project.

“One of our employees saw the idea on Facebook, and it was definitely something Mom felt there was a need for in our area,” says Massie. “The coats are out now and will be available through February or March.”

The Massies purchase coats throughout the year, and other community members donate coats to the racks. Folks who need a coat or have one to give and pick up and drop off at Jim’s Drive-In any time.

Jim’s Drive-In, the iconic stop along Rt. 60, just west of downtown Lewisburg, has been in business since the 1940s. The Massie family has owned the popular business for 22 years. Jim’s was just voted Best Hot Dog and Best Drive-In Restaurant by readers of WV Living.
