LEWISBURG (WVDN) First Fridays after 5 is having a Giving Thanks Celebration in downtown Lewisburg on Friday, Nov. 5.

Meet inspirational artists, discover new food and drinks, and enjoy late evening shopping. Everyone is invited to this free event from 5-8 p.m.

The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center welcomes November with a beautiful display of quilts created by the Alderson Quilt Guild. Quilting demonstrations will take place throughout the day on Friday and quilters will be on hand during First Fridays to talk about their craft. Many items will also be for sale, just in time for the holidays. The Alderson Quilt Guild has been in existence for 30 years and currently has 31 members. Tickets will be available during First Fridays for this year’s raffle quilt. Representatives from WVSOM and the American Legion will also be on hand to distribute information. Music throughout the evening will be provided by County Blue featuring Mel Waggy and George Piasecki.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Central will feature artist Sharon Johnson, a watercolorist whose inspiration is drawn from her miniature horse farm. Her art will be on display and available for purchase.

Cinnamon, pumpkin, and all things fall and holiday show up at the tasting table at Bella the Corner Gourmet. Stop in for a tasty treat, holiday punch and help with your holiday cooking and planning, too.

Join A New Chapter as they celebrate author M.D. Boncher and his sci-fi/fantasy series “Akiniwazisaga.”

Patina is grateful for local musical talent and local customers, including Girl Scouts. Patina are celebrating with Patrick O’Flaherty’s traditional Celtic music and Thin Mints.

Harvest the savings at CountySeat Art. This is their last First Friday. They are switching to an online shop and closing their Court St. location. Most items at least 30% off some up to 50%. Don’t wait to scoop up work by your favorite WV makers at the lowest prices of the year.

Stop by Sheena Pendley‘ Studio for limited edition pet portraits; 100% of proceeds benefit United Way of Greenbrier Valley. There is no set cost, pay-what-you-can.

This month the American Legion will be moving to the Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center to support Veteran’s Day in November. They’ll have a table serving hot coffee and cookies along with information on post activities. They’ll also have poppies available for a donation to show support to veterans and their service.

High Rocks will be hosting Giving Thanks themed karaoke from 6-8PM and offering special seasonal drinks for sale in the cafe.

Stardust Cafe is having Prime Rib Night for First Friday. Limited amounts, and reservations recommended.

Wolf Creek is featuring some of Julie Fine’s newest designs. Julie Fine is an all-encompassing sewing business that features the one-of-kind creations, upcycled inventions, and expertly tailored custom clothing from the seamstress and designer.

Cat and Kate will be hosting a holiday wish list party.

The Shoe Box, Aggie’s and Little Black Box Bra Boutique will be open late.

First Fridays is sponsored by City National Bank and the shops and restaurants of downtown Lewisburg. For more information check out facebook.com/firstfridaysafter5, instagram.com/firstfridaysafter5, visitlewisburgwv.com or call 304-645-6646.
