LEWISBURG (WVDN) First Fridays after 5 is having a Giving Thanks Celebration in downtown Lewisburg on Friday, Nov. 5.
Meet inspirational artists, discover new food and drinks, and enjoy late evening shopping. Everyone is invited to this free event from 5-8 p.m.
The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center welcomes November with a beautiful display of quilts created by the Alderson Quilt Guild. Quilting demonstrations will take place throughout the day on Friday and quilters will be on hand during First Fridays to talk about their craft. Many items will also be for sale, just in time for the holidays. The Alderson Quilt Guild has been in existence for 30 years and currently has 31 members. Tickets will be available during First Fridays for this year’s raffle quilt. Representatives from WVSOM and the American Legion will also be on hand to distribute information. Music throughout the evening will be provided by County Blue featuring Mel Waggy and George Piasecki.
Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Central will feature artist Sharon Johnson, a watercolorist whose inspiration is drawn from her miniature horse farm. Her art will be on display and available for purchase.

This month the American Legion will be moving to the Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center to support Veteran’s Day in November. They’ll have a table serving hot coffee and cookies along with information on post activities. They’ll also have poppies available for a donation to show support to veterans and their service.
High Rocks will be hosting Giving Thanks themed karaoke from 6-8PM and offering special seasonal drinks for sale in the cafe.
Stardust Cafe is having Prime Rib Night for First Friday. Limited amounts, and reservations recommended.
Wolf Creek is featuring some of Julie Fine’s newest designs. Julie Fine is an all-encompassing sewing business that features the one-of-kind creations, upcycled inventions, and expertly tailored custom clothing from the seamstress and designer.
Cat and Kate will be hosting a holiday wish list party.
