RONCEVERTE (WVDN) – On Sunday, Oc. 30, the Ronceverte River Festival will host a children’s costume parade followed by a trunk or treat.

It all takes place at Island Park in Ronceverte. Parade line up and trunk or treat parking begin at 2:30 p.m. Only children (and parents as needed) are allowed in the parade; no vehicles of any sort.

Parade lineup is at Shelter No. 2.

Trunk or treat parking will be near the playground, and ends at 3 p.m. The parade begins at 3:15 p.m., and children will march from Shelter No. 2 to the playground. Trunk or treat ends at 5 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to hand out candy for trunk or treat. If you want organizers to save you a space, please let them know on Facebook or at theronceverteriverfestival@gmail.com. You don’t have to parade to trunk or treat.

Also, the Halloween decoration contest is for outdoor decorations and carved pumpkins. A prize of $100 will be awarded to the winner of this contest. Send your pictures to theronceverteriverfestival@gmail.com or message them to them on Facebook. All entries must include an address and a contact number. They will post all pictures on Facebook, and you get to vote on your favorite for one week.

Entries will be accepted until Oct. 31. Voting begins Nov. 1. You can enter someone else’s decorations, but they will get the prize. Please, ask permission of the owner before posting decorations other than your own.
