The following governmental bodies will hold public meetings this week:
White Sulphur Springs City Council will meet on Monday, Aug. 8, at 7 p.m. On the agenda: standing committee reports, officer reports; discussion of water and sewer rate increase; discussion of city flag; and more. Also, the council members will hold a work session at 6:15 p.m., and the finance committee will meet at 6:45 p.m. the same night.
The Greenbrier County Commission will meet in regular session on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m. in room 132 of the county courthouse. The meeting is also live streamed at facebook.com/gbrcourthouse/. On the agenda: brownfields presentation; 2022 National Farmers Week proclamation; consider signing the professional agreement with E.L. Robinson for engineering work on the Meadow River Rail Trail phase III conversion project; consider signing a change order with Lynch Construction for the repairs to the Meadow River Rail Trail; consideration of renewal of lease for Family Court; and more.
The Greenbrier County Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 1 p.m. at the Kyle and Ann Fort Arts and Sciences Center, 653 Church St., Lewisburg. On the agenda: Greenbrier County Schools and Greenbrier Valley Aquatic Center partnership; electric school bus grant; partnership between Monroe County WVU Research Farm and GCS schools; levy ballot, and more.
The finance committee of the city of Lewisburg will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Paul R. Cooley Council Chamber at Lewisburg City Hall. On the agenda: WV Dept. of Natural Resources Greenbrier River Trail agreement; public works building bid approval; water project payment resolution and drawdown request approval; water rate ordinance – update of water tap fees; parks department – approval of mower purchase; and more.
