The first harbinger of the fair is complete!
Every year, motorists on southbound Rt. 219 in Fairlea note when construction of the Wild Mouse carnival ride begins, usually around three weeks before the start of the State Fair of West Virginia.
Now, the perennial favorite ride is up, and state fair employees, vendors, and Reithoffer Shows folks will be busy constructing Greenbrier County’s greatest spectacle.
The Wild Mouse debuted in 2004, and kids and adults alike have line up to take a ride on the coaster ever since.
Don’t forget to say “cheese” on the final downhill when the coaster’s camera takes a pic.
The State Fair of West Virginia runs Aug. 11-20.
