Widespread power outages follow heavy storm

Greenbrier County is experiencing widespread power outages this morning, with 2,520 MonPower customers without electricity.
According to MonPower, there are outages across the eastern half of the county with Maxwelton and Friars Hill bearing the brunt of the outages. Maxwelton has 224 customers out of 259 without power, and Friars Hill is reported to be 100 percent out.

Eight hundred eighty Lewisburg customers are without power.

MonPower reports that Crawley has 10 customers down.

American Electric Power/Appalachian Power is reported to have 282 customers without power.

On Monday evening, as a line of powerful thunderstorms tore through the region, the Rainelle Fire Department reported debris in the road in the Mcross area urging citizens to stay home and avoid all roads.
