LEWISBURG (WVDN) – At its regular weekly meeting on Monday, June 6, members of the Lewisburg Rotary Club toured the new mobile clinic from Robert C. Byrd Clinic at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Scot Mitchell, chief executive officer of Robert C. Byrd Clinic and a member of Lewisburg Rotary, and Jason McDaniel, chief financial officer of Robert C. Byrd Clinic, led tours of the mobile clinic.
Mitchell informed the gathered Rotarians that staff of Robert C. Byrd Clinic was able to secure grant funding to purchase the new mobile clinic, which will enable delivery of healthcare services to underserved communities throughout West Virginia.
Mitchell stressed the importance of the services available from the mobile clinic as COVID infection rates trend upward in our area, as the mobile clinic will offer vaccinations, testing, and treatment for COVID-19.
The mobile clinic boasts two complete examination rooms and additional equipment that will enable health care professionals to treat patients wherever the mobile clinic travels. The mobile clinic is fully accessible for patients with mobility issues.
