My name is Jamie Baker and I am running for the position of Circuit Clerk of Greenbrier County. I am a Republican. I’m blessed to take this moment to introduce myself.
I’m a lifelong resident of Greenbrier County. I grew up in Rainelle, WV, and graduated from Greenbrier West High School in 2000. I moved to the Lewisburg area in 2005 when I married my husband, Brian Baker who is a Captain with the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department. Brian has been with the department for 22 years and spent 4 years before that as an officer in Ronceverte, WV. We have one daughter, Presley who is a Freshman at Greenbrier East High School. My stepson, Garrett Jones also lives in Lewisburg.
I have almost 20 years of experience in and around the legal system. My career started in 2003 when I was a legal assistant to local attorneys until 2009. I then spent 9 years as an advocate with the Family Refuge Center. During my time at FRC, I was a supervisor, program coordinator and I traveled throughout the State of WV training law enforcement, prosecutors, and advocates on Dangerousness and Lethality Assessments. I am currently the Victim Services Coordinator for the Greenbrier County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. This position allows me to provide advocacy and assistance throughout the court system to all victims of crime.
If elected, I will serve the citizens of Greenbrier County with honesty, integrity and provide the best customer service possible. I am dependable and take pride in my work and the work of those around me. I will be dedicated to the office of Circuit Clerk and to those I serve. The Circuit Clerk’s office must see top notch efficiency, modernization, and quality assurance. I will work toward the highest performance in ensuring legal processes in Greenbrier County are not stalled and documentation of cases are filed properly. As a conservative, I believe that processes must be streamlined so as to ensure that we are not wasting your taxpayer dollars. This office plays a vital role in the selection of jurors, issuing passports, appointing guardian ad litems, and the day-to-day flow of all court proceedings that directly affect the lives of Greenbrier County citizens. As your Circuit Clerk, I aim to lead with superior process management and modernized execution of tasks.
I look forward to meeting all of you as I campaign throughout the next several months. Your consideration and your vote would be very appreciated as I run for Circuit Clerk of Greenbrier County.
