Josi Ervin threw a shutout to lead Greenbrier East Varsity Spartans past Oak Hill 11-0 on Monday.
Ervin secured a complete game and allowed just one hit and struck out 17.
East got things moving in the second inning, when Olivia Plybon drilled a 2-run home run on a 1-2 count.
The Spartans notched four runs in the seventh inning to basically seal the deal at that point in the contest. The big inning was fueled by a triple from Aubrey Glover, singles by Lindsey Black and Rylee Norman, and a double by Brooke Davis.
Ervin took the win for the Spartans and seems to be hitting her stride with each game.
Krista Shrewsberry took the loss for Oak Hill. She surrendered 11 runs on 13 hits over seven innings and struck out four.
The Spartans had 13 hits in the game. Norman, Taylor Boswell, and Black each racked up multiple hits.
Boswell and Norman all had three hits apiece.
Branch led Oak Hill with one hit in three at bats.
With the win, the Spartans improve to 5-3.
