The annual Rainelle Christmas Parade was a lot of fun.
People lined the parade route to get goodies and watch as fire trucks, marching bands from Greenbrier West and Meadow Bridge and various floats made their way down Main Street on Saturday, Dec. 4.
Following the parade, the best float winners were announced in a ceremony hosted by members of the Rainelle Fire Department.
First place fire/rescue went to the Danese Fire Department and second place went to the Smoot Fire Department;
First place EMS went to White Sulphur Springs EMS;
First place float went to the House of Prayer and second place went to Wallace Weedwackers;
First place equestrian went to “Horse and Sleigh”;
First place walking group went to the Western Greenbrier Middle School Cheerleaders and second place went to RAZE;
First place marching band went to Greenbrier West High School.
Additionally, winners of the Town of Rainelle Christmas Home and Business Decorating Contest were announced. The winners of best decorated home are:
First place: The Critchley Home at 198 6th Street;
Second place (tie): The Vandall Home at 509 Kanawha Avenue and The Brown/Knotts Home at 164 Fayette Avenue.
Best decorated businesses are:
First Place: God’s Way Home at 477 Main Street;
Second Place: Shades of Beauty at 242 Main Street.
