BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVDN) – State Treasurer Larry Pack announced Monday that his Office presented more than $2,700 in unclaimed property funds to the City of Beckley.
“We’re always glad to help put unclaimed funds back to work in West Virginia communities,” Treasurer Pack said. “This $2,700 belongs to the City of Beckley, and returning it is another example of how our Office works every day to reunite rightful owners with money that may otherwise go unnoticed.”
The City of Beckley received an unclaimed property check on Monday morning for $2,766.77. The money came from accounts payable and miscellaneous payments.
In September, the Treasurer’s Office returned more than $2.4 million to individuals, businesses and organizations across West Virginia.
The State Treasurer’s Office has more than $530 million worth of listings in its database statewide. There are more than 161,000 unclaimed property listings worth more than $17.8 million in Raleigh County.
Since the start of Fiscal Year 2027, which began on July 1, 2026, the Treasurer’s Office has returned nearly $9.4 million to rightful owners.
