ALDERSON, W.Va. (WVDN) — A group of enthusiastic supporters joined owner Pam Wigglesworth and the staff of My Home Gym on July 16, 2026, for a grand opening and ribbon cutting. The gym is located at 105 Railroad Ave. on the Monroe County side of Alderson, next to the Alderson Volunteer Fire Department.
A good crowd cheered this new addition to Alderson’s amenities. “With the help of a great team, we have been able to assemble this,” Wigglesworth said. “We hope it brings joy, many people use it, and feel better when they leave.” This “small but mighty” gym has something for everyone, with membership options including regular memberships at $40 per month and senior memberships at $30 per month. Some discounts are available, so prospective members are encouraged to inquire when taking a tour. Members have 24-hour access so they can exercise at a time that fits their schedule.
The gym offers the Lion’s Den Weight Room, which is designed for heavy lifters and includes free weights, bars, squat racks, bench presses and more. Andrew Eppler, a certified yoga instructor from the Ashtanga Yoga Studio in Noble, Okla., is also on staff. The gym offers Zumba, a fun and energetic workout using contemporary dance and music from around the world. Tai Chi has recently been added, and more styles and classes will be included as interest increases.
Alderson Main Street president Don Sutherland said, “We are excited to have this new business in Alderson. It is especially great for Alderson residents to be able to walk to such an excellent exercise facility.”
