Mary Louise Deem Sturgell went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 22, 2021 after a short illness.

Louise was the daughter of the late Sam and Ethel Deem of Ronceverte. Louise was preceded in death by not only her parents, but her baby brothers, Charles William Deem, Sammy Dale Deem, and Gary Hollie Deem; and sister, Hazel Marie Russell.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Sturgell; her children, Danny Deem (Allie), Kim Withrow (David), and Wolly Sturgell; and grandchildren, Janet Kowalsky (Denny), Katelin Withrow (Zack), Mary Deem, Aaron Withrow, Gary Deem, Gabby Withrow, Haley Toney, and Clay Deem; great-grandsons, Bradley Shirley, Darren Deem, and Emmett Kowalsky; her sister, Doris Lovelace; and brothers, Tommy Deem (Barb), Roger, and Johnny Deem (Melanie).

A visitation for family and friends will be 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte, followed by a service at 5:30 p.m. with Pastor Joey Morgan officiating.

Private interment will follow the service.

Donations of sympathy may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
