COVINGTON, Va. (WVDN)- The Covington Lumberjacks Bark in the Park night has been rescheduled for June 16 at 6:30 p.m. after the original game was cancelled due to weather. Fans are encouraged to bring donations of dog and cat food for the Alleghany Humane Society, which will also be on hand with adoptable pets. NOTICE OF PUBLIC REAL ESTATE PUBLIC AUCTION

NOTICE is hereby given to all whom it may concern that pursuant to W. Va. Code §18-5-7, the BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE COUNTY OF GREENBRIER (“Board of Education”), acting by its duly authorized agent(s), will offer for sale at public auction the real property, with all of its rights, title and interest, described below to the highest responsible bidder whose bid meets or exceeds the minimum reserve established by the Board of Education.

REAL PROPERTY TO BE AUCTIONED:

The property is located at 197 Chestnut Street, Lewisburg, WV 24901, former location of the Central Office, Greenbrier County Board of Education, currently utilized as the Achievement Center.

LOCATION: 197 Chestnut Street, Lewisburg, WV 24901

TERMS OF SALE:

– This sale is conducted pursuant to W. Va. Code §18-5-7.

– The property is being conveyed in “as is” condition without covenants or warranties of any kind, express or implied, and subject to all matters of record. The Board of Education makes no representations or warranties as to the physical condition of the property. All liability for hazards associated with the subject property shall be assumed by the purchaser.

– At the auction, the successful bidder shall deliver a deposit equal to ten (10%) of the purchase price, payable by cash, certified check, cashier’s check, or check guaranteed by bank letter of credit in acceptable form, in hand on the day of sale.

– At the auction, the successful bidder shall execute a Purchase Contract, which shall become effective upon the Board of Education’s approval of the same at its first regular meeting (or special meeting) following the sale.

– The Purchase Contract shall, among other things, provide that the balance of the purchase price shall be paid at closing, which shall occur within 30 calendar days of the effective date of the Purchase Contract.

– The Board of Education is authorized to utilize other customary rules and practices necessary to achieve the fair and orderly auction of property, including, but not limited to, the right to reject any bid that fails to comply with the published terms of sale or that the Board of Education determines is not in the best interests of the school system.

INSPECTION: The property to be sold may be inspected on May 21st, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.

RIGHT TO REJECT:  The Board of Education also reserves the right to cancel or postpone the sale upon public announcement at the time and place set forth above.
