LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – The Greenbrier Humane Society will host a special off-site adoption event, “Chocolate Kisses, Puppy Wishes,” during the Lewisburg Chocolate Festival on Saturday, April 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The adoption event will be located between Carnegie Hall and New River Community and Technical College, to the right of the steps. Festival attendees are encouraged to stop by, meet adoptable dogs, and learn more about the work of the shelter.
Several dogs will be available for adoption at the event, including:
- Waltrip – a 5-month-old male terrier mix
- Yuri – a 7-month-old male boxer mix
- Fiona – a 2-year-old female terrier mix
- Cash – a 1-year-and-7-month-old male Mountain Cur mix
All animals available for adoption are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.
In addition, thanks to the Humane Society’s Pay It Forward Program, the Greenbrier Humane Society currently has ten sponsored adoptions available, meaning adoption fees for select animals have already been covered by generous community members and local businesses.
Because staff will be attending the off-site event, the Humane Society will be closed until 3:00 PM on Saturday. The Greenbrier Humane Society will reopen for regular visits from 3-5 p.m.
“We’re excited to bring some of our adoptable dogs out into the community during such a fun local event,” said Tracy Kincaid, Rescue Coordinator for the Greenbrier Humane Society. “If you’re already enjoying the Chocolate Festival, we encourage you to stop by and meet a dog who might just become your new best friend.”
The Greenbrier Humane Society serves the animals of Greenbrier County by providing shelter, medical care, and adoption services while promoting responsible pet ownership throughout the community.
