FAIRLEA W.Va. (WVDN) – If you’re in the mood to celebrate local artisans, check out the annual American Heritage Music Hall Spring Craft & Vendor Show this weekend. For the 5th year, this event will highlight 60 vendors in the Cecil H. Underwood Youth Building at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds. Achieving a sold-out capacity, this year’s spring show is sure to have something for everyone.
On Friday, March 27, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., the show will kick off with handmade items, food and an overall sense of spring with a selection of seasonal decor. On Saturday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the show will continue with a very special guest. The Easter Bunny will be hopping by to visit with the children from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be available for photos at no charge. Youngsters will also have the chance to play games, win prizes and enjoy free treat bags.
To close out the weekend, Thomas Taylor Band will be performing Saturday night in the west wing of the Cecil H. Underwood Youth Building. This annual dance, which also benefits the American Heritage Music Hall, will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. and has become a tradition for both the band and those who love classic country music.
“I’m looking forward to playing for this dance as much as the attending dancers are looking forward to the Thomas Taylor Band,” says bass guitarist Bill Clapham. “The sponsors always put on an event with food and music. We play music for people who want to two-step and dance to Western swing music.”
While the craft show is free and open to the public, the dance will require a $10 admission fee per person. All ages are welcome; children 12 and under will be admitted to the dance free of charge.
“The Thomas Taylor Band is very excited to provide entertainment to wrap up the craft show for the American Heritage Music Hall,” says Thomas Taylor. “We hope to see everyone there.”
Proceeds from the 5th Annual Spring Craft & Vendor Show, including vendor setup fees, the concession stand, raffle baskets and the dance will benefit the American Heritage Music Hall. This year’s raffle baskets will include several themes, including Spring, Easter and Highland Cows. Kay Shafer invites everyone to celebrate the season with a fun-filled weekend. “We hope everyone will come out and support the area crafters and vendors,” says Kay Shafer, fundraiser organizer for American Heritage Music Hall.
