Charles “Chuck” W. Falls

Charles “Chuck” W. Falls, 76, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away on March 16, 2026, following a long illness.

Born June 26, 1949, in Ronceverte, WV, he was the son of the late John R. Falls Sr. and Natoma “Toby” Jeffries Falls.

Chuck graduated from Greenbrier High School in 1968. That same year, he joined the United States Army, serving in the 135th AHC Experimental Military Unit (EMUs) as a helicopter crew chief in the Vietnam War. During his service, he received a Purple Heart, along with several other medals and commendations, before being honorably discharged.

On July 21, 1970, Chuck married the love of his life, Jean Morgan Falls, in Clifton Forge, VA. They shared 55 years of marriage together and built a life centered on family, faith, and devotion. Chuck was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He worked for Westvaco at the woodyard in Crawley, WV, as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 2009 after 30 years of dedicated service.

Chuck attended Edgewood Presbyterian Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was also a proud member of the Elks and spent many happy hours on the golf course. He enjoyed telling stories, listening to music, and crafting with his hands. He loved old cars and appreciated a good joke or a jump-scare for a good laugh.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jean; his children, Tina Wise (Don) and Tonya Woods (Ryan); grandchildren, Donnie Wise (Misha), Stephen Wise (Candace), Samantha Wise, Lachelle Wise, Gabe Wise (Casey), Alexis Wise, Rhiannon Cohernour, Marlowe Bogart, Desi Wise, Cooper Woods, and Campbell Woods; and great-grandchildren, Ellie Wise, Elsie Wise, Jude Wise, and Theo Wise. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, John R. Falls Jr.; and nephew, John Robert “J.R.” Falls III.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of VA Beckley Health Care/Veteran’s Affairs for the compassionate support and care provided to Chuck during his declining health.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Edgewood Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Kristi Moore will officiate.

Memorial donations in Chuck’s memory may be made to Edgewood’s Saturday of Service at the following link: https://www.givelify.com or sending to 162 Harper Road, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
