WASHINGTON, D.C. (WVDN) – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Chairman of the Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee and a leader on the Senate Appropriations committee, announced Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) allocations for Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) to support water infrastructure projects throughout West Virginia.

“The need for clean water across West Virginia is critical,” Senator Capito said. “These investments will go a long way in making sure communities across our state have more efficient water systems that better serve residents and businesses. By directing federal funding to projects like these, we are helping ensure stronger, healthier communities and a brighter future for all West Virginians.”

Individual allocation details listed below:

  • $10,000,000 CDS allocation to Huntington Sanitary Board (Cabell County, W.Va.) to rehabilitate and reconstruct the Four Pole Creek Sanitary Pump Station to prevent sewage overflows, protect public health, and ensure reliable wastewater service for residents.
  • $5,051,000 CDS allocation to Harpers Ferry Water Distribution System Project (Jefferson County, W.Va.) to support the rehabilitation of the town’s water distribution system. Senator Capito first announced this allocation in February 2026.
  • $2,500,000 CDS allocation to City of Pennsboro (Ritchie County, W.Va.) to replace aging infrastructure and non-operational water valves to increase fire-fighting capabilities and to reduce water loss.
  • $2,250,000 CDS allocation to Clarksburg Water Board (Harrison County, W.Va.) to replace problematic lead service lines and non-operational valves and fire hydrants.
  • $1,500,000 CDS allocation to Tucker County Commission (Tucker County, W.Va.) to create one regional collection system and wastewater treatment plant to meet the expanding infrastructure needs.
  • $1,500,000 CDS allocation to the City of Weston (Lewis County, W.Va.) to extend sewer service along Corridor H to better serve existing and future customers and support economic development.
  • $1,000,000 CDS allocation to the Town of West Hamlin (Lincoln County, W.Va.) to ensure reliable portable water to customers and support upgrades to the water treatment plant.
  • $1,000,000 CDS allocation to Buffalo Creek Public Service District (Logan County, W.Va.) to replace the failing wastewater treatment plant and make upgrades to the collection system extensions.
  • $750,000 CDS allocation to Boone County Public Service District (Boone County, W.Va.) to support water improvement and a pipeline extension to provide sanitary sewer service to more residents.
