LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – Carnegie Hall is honored to welcome the legendary, GRAMMY Award–winning ensemble Sweet Honey in the Rock® for an unforgettable performance on Friday, March 20, at 7 p.m. Guests are invited to come early for the free Club Carnegie Preshow Reception from 6–6:45 p.m. in the Board Room located adjacent to the Hamilton Auditorium. A cash bar and snacks are available.

For more than fifty years, Sweet Honey in the Rock® has moved audiences around the world with their soul‑stirring harmonies and powerful artistic vision. Rooted in African American musical traditions, this all‑woman, a cappella ensemble blends gospel, blues, jazz, and spoken word to create a sound that is both musically breathtaking and deeply meaningful. Their performances resonate with themes of social justice, resilience, and cultural heritage—offering not only extraordinary artistry but also a call to reflection, connection, and action.

Whether delivering heartfelt ballads or electrifying rhythmic pieces, Sweet Honey in the Rock® continues to inspire and uplift, proving time and again that music can be a force for change and a source of profound community. This one‑night‑only event invites audiences to experience the transformative power of their voices live on the Carnegie Hall stage.

Directly following the performance, Sweet Honey in the Rock® will be available for a talkback session, allowing the audience to ask questions.

This performance will be interpreted as sign language, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming experience for all attendees.

“Carnegie Hall is proud to present artists whose work speaks to the heart of community and the human spirit,” said Performance Director Mary Leb. “Sweet Honey in the Rock® embodies the power of music to unite, heal, and inspire.”

Tickets are $42/adult and $20/student and only a limited number of tickets are still available. Thanks to the Carnegie Cardinal Fund, Greenbrier County Students attend for free, but still must reserve a seat. Call to take advantage of the discounts that are available for Carnegie Hall members, students, senior citizens, and military. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, please request seats on audience left as the interpreter will be situated on stage right.

To purchase tickets, call Carnegie Hall, visit www.carnegiehallwv.org, or stop by at 611 Church Street, Lewisburg. Carnegie Hall Box Office is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

This special event is held in conjunction with the Celebrating Women Event (March 18) and the Introduction to American Sign Language Workshop (March 14). Support for these events is made possible in part by an ArtsConnect Grant through Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation.
