ELKINS, W.Va. (WVDN) – The Monongahela National Forest is planning spring prescribed fire operations, contingent upon favorable weather conditions and required approvals. Prescribed fire is a critical tool to help manage healthier forests, and to help protect local communities, infrastructure and natural resources from wildfires.
- Lockridge: Marlinton-White Sulphur District- 2,439 acres
- Upper Greenbrier North: Greenbrier District- 465 acres
- Nursery Bottom: Cheat-Potomac- 55 acres
- Chestnut Ridge: Greenbrier District- 1,579 acres
- One Mile: Marlinton-White Sulphur District- 724 acres
- Upper John B. Hollow: Cheat-Potomac- 209 acres
- North Fork: Marlinton-White Sulphur District- 331 acres
- County Line: Marlinton-White Sulphur District- 472 acres
- Lick Mountain: Marlinton-White Sulphur District- 448 acres
