Margie Ellen Meadows (Sparks)

Margie Ellen Meadows (Sparks), age 85, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, in Ronceverte, WV. Born on August 18, 1940, in Bandy, WV, she was the cherished daughter of William and Margie Ellen Sparks.

Margie was a devoted mother to her daughters, Ellen Elmore (Tom) of Second Creek, WV, and Alethea Gallagher (Jim) of Lewisburg, WV; daughter-in-law, Terra Baker of Lewisburg, WV. She was a wonderful grandmother to Michael Elmore (Paige), Justin Meadows (Megan), Scotty Elmore (Katie), Brian Gallagher (Chantella), Derick Meadows, Josh Hall (Morgan), Briana Adams, Chelsey Baker, Hunter Baker, and Peyton Jackson. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Nova and Bishop Elmore; Gatlin and Kendall Elmore; Camden and Harlem Hall; Ruger Davis; Baylor Baker; and Percival and Caspian Gallagher.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Meadows; her son, James Baker; and her daughter, Leslie Jackson. Margie also mourned the loss of her parents and siblings: brothers, William, Kelveran, Cleveland, and Robert Sparks; and sisters, Brenda Bonds and Sarah Gheen.

Known affectionately as “G-Maw” by many beyond her family circle, Margie’s life was a testament to strength and love. Her warmth touched countless lives as she cared for others with unparalleled compassion. Gardening brought her peace, but her greatest joy came from the time spent surrounded by loved ones.

Margie will be laid to rest beside her husband, parents, and sister at Whatcoat United Methodist Church Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs, WV. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home, 252 Montvue Dr., followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Mike Teubert.

In lieu of flowers – please send donations to Greenbrier County Humane Society or a charity of your choice.

May Margie’s memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
