Renick, W.Va. (WVDN) – Senator Vince Deeds filed to seek re-election for the West Virginia State Senate, 10th District.

“God, family and service are not just words, but our way of life,” stated Deeds, “When I ran for this seat, I pledged to work on cutting our taxes, improving our business climate so job creators can not just survive but thrive and voting in the best interest of our district, and that is exactly what we have done for the past three years.”

Deeds serves as Vice Chair of the Health and Human Resources Committee and the Natural Resources Committee. His other committee assignments include: Agriculture, Education, Judiciary, Military, Health, Workforce and Select Committee on Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health.

“I am asking the voters in the 10th to allow me to continue serving in our State Senate so I can continue to keep the promises I have made. While we have accomplished a lot – there is still much work to do in order to eliminate the state income tax, bring more jobs to our area, support our tourism industry and improve our education system,” said Deeds.

Deeds’ background includes graduating from Hinton High School, earning a BS in Psychology and Political Science from University of Virginia, and a Master’s in Psychology at Quantico. Vince Deeds is married to wife, Michelle and they have two sons, Tristan and Justin Deeds. Deeds retired from the WV State Police and today he works with the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Lewisburg.
