Charleston, W.Va. (WVDN) – Republican Jeff Disibbio filed Wednesday to run for the State Senate, District 6 to represent Mercer, McDowell, Mingo and Part of Wayne County.
Disibbio, a lifelong West Virginian and Mercer County resident, has spent his career working towards bringing together businesses, local leaders, and citizens to advocate for revitalizing the economy, building infrastructure, and supporting education in Southern West Virginia.
“I believe in finding practical solutions to the issues our area is facing today. Through job creation and infrastructure development, supporting all levels of education, including vocational and secondary education to develop our workforce, we can give our students the opportunities they need right here at home and improve the quality of life for all.” said Disibbio.
“We need to have real conversations about helping families in our communities. It is hard to imagine that in 2025, there are still households without running water, crumbling roads and schools that are in dire need of maintenance. We need good paying jobs and infrastructure to not only attract job creators but also improve the quality of life for everyone,” added Disibbio, “As a major economic hub in West Virginia, Mercer County deserves to have representation in the State Senate.”
Disibbio’s background includes his current role as President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of the Two Virginias, teaching Criminal Justice at Bluefield University, he previously served as a Trust Officer at First Century and First Community Bank and championed initiatives that support small business and workforce development.
Disibbio’s educational background includes a BS in Criminal Justice/Pre-law from Radford University, BS in Psychology from Bluefield College and his Law Degree from Regent University-Robertson School of Law.
