LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – Love is in the air, and the American Heritage Music Hall wants to celebrate with a Valentine’s Day dance. On February 14, the Thomas Taylor Band will provide live music for all ages. The dance will take place at the Clingman Center, located at 18 US 219 in Lewisburg (near Amy’s Market in the Montwell Commons) from 6 to 10 p.m. Complimentary snack trays will be available, and non-alcoholic beverages (soda and water) will be available for purchase. Admission is $10 per person and dress code is casual or formal. “Dress code is whatever you choose,” says Kay Shafer, fundraiser organizer for American Heritage Music Hall.

The following month, just as spring begins to bloom, the American Heritage Music Hall will present their 5th annual Spring Craft & Vendor Show at the Cecil H. Underwood Youth Building at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds. The show will take place on Friday, March 27 from 12 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

With last year’s spring show being such a huge success, this year’s event is highly anticipated. “Last year’s spring show was the best show we’ve ever had,” Shafer said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if we had 800 to 1,000 people come through that weekend. We had a really good turnout with it.”

Vendor applications are currently being mailed for the 2026 show, so there’s still time for artisans and representatives to secure a space. With approximately 65 spots available, each at a cost of $40 and measuring 8×10, this year’s event will host both returning favorites and likely some new vendors as well. “We always have woodworking items, flower arrangements, food, jewelry, quilted and crochet items,” Shafer said.

Speaking of returning favorites, the Easter Bunny will be hopping by during the craft & vendor show to visit with the kids on Saturday. There will be a background set up for photo opportunities, as well as games and prizes for the youngsters.

As is tradition at the conclusion of the weekend event, a dance will be held on Saturday night from 7 to 11 p.m. Live music will be provided by a local band, the name of which will be announced at a later date. Admission to the dance is $10 per person; ages 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. Food will be available for purchase at the concession stand during the dance and also all weekend during the craft show.

Shafer invites everyone to usher in spring’s return with bright and colorful creations, and unique handcrafted items that you won’t find sitting on the shelf at your local big-box retailer. “Come out, shop and support all our crafters, vendors and the music hall,” she urges.

The Spring Craft & Vendor Show is free and open to the public. Proceeds from vendor setup fees, the concession stand, raffle baskets and the dance will benefit the American Heritage Music Hall. For more information or to request a vendor application, contact Kay Shafer at 304-646-3580 or kayshafer554@yahoo.com.
