Charleston, W.Va. (WVDN) – For decades, Michael Jarrouj has dedicated his time and efforts to entrepreneurship, supporting local philanthropic organizations, and working to build a stronger community centered around faith and family in Kanawha County.

Jarrouj has filed precandidacy for the 17th Senatorial District and is looking forward to bringing his message of fighting for job creators, employees, and working families across the district.

“West Virginia needs leaders who understand the challenges small businesses face. I am willing to work with anyone who wants to move our state and community forward in a positive direction,” said Jarrouj, “Our leaders should work as hard as our people do. In doing so, we can build a stronger West Virginia together.”

Jarrouj has been the owner of The Olive Tree since 2015 and recently has grown his business to include a location at Shawnee Sports Complex.

“We have to do what is best for our families right here in West Virginia. We have to give our children something to stay home for,” said Jarrouj.

Currently, Jarrouj serves as the Parish Council President at St. George Cathedral, serves on the board of Heart and Hand, and frequently makes appearances at the Light Opera Guild. Jarrouj has been married to his wife, Kim, for 25 years. They have 4 children together and live in Kanawha County.

The 17th State Senatorial District covers much of Kanawha County.
