CHARLESTON W.Va. (WVDN) – The Public Service Commission of West Virginia accepted a settlement agreement Tuesday that will decrease by 0.1 percent the average monthly bill of customers of Monongahela Power Co. and The Potomac Edison Co.
The agreement adjusts rates overall for fuel costs for the two by $14 million to be effective January 1, 2026, but average monthly residential rates should decrease by 12 cents to $137.31.
The parties involved in the negotiations filed the settlement agreement with the Commission on December 12.
A hearing scheduled for December 15 was canceled.
