CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) – Governor Patrick Morrisey has issued a proclamation granting West Virginia state employees the full day off on both Wednesday, December 24, and Friday, December 26.

“I am so grateful to the tireless work of our state employees,” said Governor Morrisey. “Their commitment to improving the lives of West Virginians inspires me everyday. I hope they are all able to use this time to spend Christmas with their loved ones and enjoy a well deserved break.”

The order grants this time off without charge against accrued annual leave. This action applies only to employees of the State of West Virginia and does not affect private businesses, local governments, or other entities.
