LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – We are thrilled to announce the success of The West Virginia Daily News Toy Drive to benefit the Children’s Home Society. Thanks to the generous contributions from our community, this will ensure joy for countless children this holiday season.
I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for each toy donated. The toys were picked up at The West Virginia Daily News office by the Children’s Home Society staff on Thursday, Dec. 4.
Mary Carr from Children’s Home Society stated that last year they helped over 200 children in the community. “The need is even greater this year with Penny Pitch no longer we are anticipating many more. However, other groups have stepped up to help too, which we love! There are always last-minute unexpected needs. We are very thankful to the community for the contributions again this year.”
Donations included a wide variety of toys, dolls, plush animals, books, educational games, and art supplies. The toys will be distributed to local families in need, ensuring that every child experiences the magic of Christmas.
Thank you once again to everyone who contributed in any way. I want to extend a special thank you to Ronceverte Baptist Church BYF Group for helping with the toy drive again this year. We are so grateful to our friends and neighbors for their generosity this holiday season, and we couldn’t be more proud to serve this wonderful community. Your generosity and support exemplify the spirit of giving that makes our community so special. Together, we have made a meaningful impact.
As we gather with loved ones this holiday season, may your hearts be filled with joy and your homes with warmth. The West Virginia Daily News team wishes you a Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year, filled with hope and happiness. Thank you for your continued support; it makes all the difference!
