LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – According to a criminal complaint, on Dec. 2, a trooper received a call through Greenbrier County 911 for a call involving threats in the vicinity of Seneca Trail in Lewisburg.

According to the criminal complaint, Ryan Brown said threats were made against him because the man claimed he was trying to sleep with his 16-year-old daughter.

When the trooper arrived at the residence, Brown reportedly told him he had done “something stupid” and explicitly talked to a 16-year-old girl. Brown allegedly advised the trooper that he knew the girl was 16 and that he shouldn’t have been talking to her.

Around 7:19 p.m., Brown was placed under arrest for soliciting a minor. When the trooper got Brown to the Lewisburg office of the WVSP, he conducted a recorded and Mirandaized interview. During the interview, according to the criminal complaint, Brown said he knew the family before that day and that he friended the girl on Facebook because it was her birthday.

Brown reportedly went on to say he said some very sexually explicit things to the girl and went on to detail what was said. The trooper also obtained consent to search Brown’s phone so he could see the actual conversations. During this search, the trooper allegedly found where Brown had tried to get the 16-year-old to come to his residence to meet up with him.

After the interview, the trooper processed and transported Brown to the Magistrate for arraignment.

At the time of publishing, Brown is an inmate at Southern Regional Jail.
