GREENBRIER VALLEY W.Va. (WVDN) – The United Way of the Greenbrier Valley is pleased to announce the selection of Melanie Taylor as its new Executive Director. Taylor will lead the organization’s efforts to support local partners, strengthen community partnerships, expand resources, and drive the mission forward.

Taylor brings experience in workforce development, community engagement, and nonprofit leadership. Most recently, she served as the Career Development Program Director at Generation West Virginia, where she designed and implemented two statewide programs connecting young West Virginians with career opportunities while helping employers build strong, local talent pipelines.

Before her work at Generation West Virginia, Taylor supported experiential learning and leadership programs at Virginia Tech and Duke University, working with community and industry partners to help students grow as professionals and civic leaders.

“After an extensive search, we believe Melanie is the ideal leader to guide the United Way of Greenbrier Valley. Her passion for our mission and her plans to expand our reach will position us well for an exciting future.” said Board Chair Sharon Rowe, “For Taylor, the role is a personal opportunity to give back to the area by supporting our partners who are doing necessary and incredible work in our region.

“I’m excited to lead an organization that invests in the people and programs making a difference in our communities,” Taylor said. “United Way of the Greenbrier Valley brings people together to create meaningful change, and I’m looking forward to being part of that work here at home.”

Taylor holds a B.A. in Political Science and a M.A. in Public Administration from West Virginia University. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and their two dogs, Copper and Koda.

About the United Way of the Greenbrier Valley: The United Way of Greenbrier Valley is dedicated to improving lives and building a stronger community. Our mission is to unite people and organizations to collaborate in the areas of education, financial stability, and health. Together, we strive to empower individuals and uplift families, fostering a better quality of life for everyone in our valley. To learn more visit: https://www.unitedwaygreenbrier.org/about-3
