LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – This fall, Carnegie Hall WV invites families, history buffs, nature lovers, and pumpkin enthusiasts to celebrate the season with Carnegie Hall-O-Ween, an annual series of spirited events designed to delight and inspire. From candlelit cemetery tours to owl encounters and Appalachian ballads, this year’s lineup offers something for everyone.

Seasonal Highlights Include:

  • Candlelit Cemetery Tours
    October 16, 17, 24 & 25
    Presented by the Greenbrier Historical Society, these intimate evening tours explore Lewisburg’s historic cemeteries by candlelight.

  • Hoot & Holler: WV Owls and More!
    October 22 at 6:30 p.m.
    Meet live bird ambassadors—including owls and a raven—from Three Rivers Avian Center in this free educational program.

  • Elsa Howell: Ballads of Old Appalachia
    October 23 at 7 p.m.
    A special Second Stage Series performance in the Old Stone Room, featuring hauntingly beautiful Appalachian songs.

  • Home and Hearth: Cobwebber Brooms
    October 25, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
    Learn traditional broom-making techniques in this hands-on workshop.

  • Paper Pumpkins
    October 25, 6 – 8 p.m.
    A family-friendly craft night celebrating the art of autumn.

  • In the Dark of the Night
    October 28, 7 – 9 p.m.
    A free evening of storytelling and seasonal surprises—donations welcome!

  • Preserving the Past: Headstone Cleaning and Maintenance
    November 8, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

  • Carved in Stone: The Language of Symbols in Headstone Art
    November 8, 1 – 3 p.m.

 

From folklore to feathers, pumpkins to preservation, Carnegie Hall-O-Ween offers a rich tapestry of events that honor the season and the stories that shape our community.
