WILLIAMSBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – In early 2025, Levi Hertzler launched Roaring Creek Sheds LLC offering custom Amish built storage sheds, garages and greenhouses. Located in Williamsburg, this small business is garnering big interest in the community. “There’s been a lot of support,” says Hertzler. “We did this in Maryland, and I want to do it here in West Virginia too.”

While Hertzler admits that most people will use these buildings for storage, he recognizes the growing interest in tiny homes as a possible alternative. “I haven’t done any so far, but I’ve thought about it,” Hertzler said. With the cost of traditional housing being unaffordable for many, buildings converted into tiny houses have experienced a surge in popularity. Combined with the minimalist lifestyle and affordable pricing, these small homes are ideal for both first time home buyers and those who wish to avoid a 30-year mortgage.

In addition to storage and tiny homes, similar buildings are being used for small businesses and in-law suites. In some cases, they are even showing up as investment rentals on Airbnb. With such versatility, it’s easy to see why people are choosing these quality crafted sheds for everyday life, storage and business.

At Roaring Creek Sheds LLC, rent-to-own options are available for customers who are looking for an alternative to cash payments. A down payment, which is calculated based on the cost of the shed, is required for all rent-to-own contracts. Monthly payments are also determined based on the total purchase price.

In addition to lot models, custom made buildings are also available for order. When asked about a timeframe on custom orders, Hertzler explained that it depends on the demand. “If I’m not too busy, custom orders may take 2 to 3 weeks. If I’m busy, it could be anywhere from 5 to 8 weeks,” he says.

When it comes to support, Hertzler appreciates the community that he’s chosen for his business. “Since I started building, everyone that’s bought one as well as the people in the community are recommending my buildings,” he said.

Roaring Creek Sheds LLC is located on 2608 Laurel Hill Road in Williamsburg. Customers can view available buildings and discuss custom orders Monday through Saturday. For more information, call 304-832-5989.
