The Alderson Public Library is preparing for a month full of fun and excitement. Not only does the Summer Reading Program begin in June, but the library will also play host to the famous superhero Batman! The Friends of the Library group is also getting in on the fun by holding a raffle for a handmade quilt.
Tails & Tales is the theme for the Summer reading program. Activities for the reading program will take place at 6 p.m. every Tuesday at the library beginning on June 15. The program is for children between the ages of six and 12. The program will continue through July 20. To view the cute animal-filled poster for the program, visit the library’s Facebook page at Alderson Public Library.
As a kick-off for the Summer reading program, Batman and his Batmobile are making a visit to the library. Originally, he was supposed to arrive on June 9, however mechanical issues (which may or may not have been caused by the Joker) have delayed The Bat. Instead, he will now be at the Alderson Library on Friday, June 11 at 11:30 a.m. Be sure to stop by, say hello and check out the awesome Batmobile!
The Friends of The Library group is now selling chances to win a “beautiful quilt, handmade by Debbie Bryant.” Chances to win this quilt are $5 each or $10 for three. The drawing will take place on July 16 so be sure to get your chances before then.
