The Raleigh County Commission held a special meeting on Tuesday, June 8, to approve a resolution for the Community Corrections Grant Program.
According to Commissioner Dave Tolliver, the special meeting had to be called because the grant was required to be approved by Friday, June 11. The amount approved totaled $145,000.
The grant program allows for the development and maintenance of community-based programs, which are used as sentencing alternatives keeping adult offenders out of institutional custody.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Raleigh County Commission will take place on Tuesday, June 22, at 10 a.m. in the Raleigh County Commission Chamber located on Heber Street.
