LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – Carnegie Hall concludes the 2025 Ivy Terrace Concert Series Thursday, August 28, at 6:30 p.m. with the West Virginia Jazz Orchestra. Sponsored by City National Bank, the concert takes place outside on Carnegie Hall’s Ivy Terrace as attendees watch from the expansive lawn in front of New River Community and Technical College. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and pack a picnic to enjoy live music. All Ivy Terrace concerts are free, open to the public, and alcohol free.

Carnegie Hall will also recognize its volunteers from this past season – 2024-2025 – before the concert. 24/25 volunteers are invited to the Museum Gallery at 5:45 p.m. for an old-fashioned picnic dinner.

Attendees are asked to RSVP by August 25, by emailing volunteer@carnegiehallwv.org or 304-645-7917.

“Meet an Astronomer” with Dave Burman will also be on site with fun and interesting activities. The West Virginia Jazz Orchestra has been bringing the vibrant sounds of big band jazz to audiences since its formation in 2000. Founded by Joe Buttram, Peter Hill, and Gary Williams, the orchestra quickly
appointed Jeff Bryant as its music director, shaping a dynamic ensemble of 21 talented musicians.

Specializing in classic big band-era music, the group features two vocalists and performs at a variety of local events, from concerts in the park to community festivals. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the orchestra is dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of the Greenbrier Valley and Allegheny Highlands through charitable and educational initiatives. Whether swinging through timeless jazz standards or supporting young musicians, the West Virginia Jazz Orchestra continues to be a cornerstone of the region’s musical heritage.

Concerts will move inside if inclement weather dictates, so Follow and Like Carnegie Hall’s Facebook page for updates. For more information, please visit www.carnegiehallwv.org or call (304) 645-7917.

Carnegie Hall WV is a nonprofit organization supported by individual contributions, grants, and fundraising efforts such as TOOT and The Carnegie Hall Fantasy Gala. The Hall is located at 611 Church Street, Lewisburg, WV.
