Richard Lee Sigley

Richard Lee Sigley, 64, of Sinks Grove, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.

Rich was born on February 28, 1961, in Fairmont, WV, to the late Franklin and Zella Sigley, and resided in Greentown, WV, until he moved to southern West Virginia and settled in Sinks Grove, where he had planned to live out the rest of his years with his life partner, Peggy Boone.

Rich was a beloved life partner, honorary dad and granddad, brother, uncle, stepfather, step-granddad, and friend, who was an avid fisherman, hunter, and sportsman. He enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, photography, and served his country in the United States Army Reserves.

Rich is survived by his life partner, Peggy Boone (honorary daughter, Cheryl Hanna ((Cary, Jake, Brooke)); his sisters, Fran Williams of Fairmont, WV, and Sherry Sigley (Lee Shields) of Greentown; his brothers, Frank Sigley (Connie) of King, NC, and John Sigley (Marisa) of Fairmont, WV. Rich was so proud of all of his nieces and nephews and always enjoyed being part of their life, as well as his stepson, Eric McCutcheon; and step-grandson, Gabriel McCutcheon.

There will be no funeral service. Rich’s wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes scattered in a place that was very special to his heart. A small memorial with family and friends will be held in Greentown, WV, in the future, to honor Rich’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, 884 Jefferson Street North, Lewisburg, WV 24901 to help with funeral expenses.

Please send online condolences by visiting www.WallaceandWallaceFH.com.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of arrangements.
