FALLS
Our beloved husband, son, father, brother, nephew, and friend, Donald Lee “PD” Falls, 66, of Edinburg, VA passed away on February 11, 2021 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville, FL after a courageous battle with cancer. His infectious humor and laughter were with him until the end.
Donald grew up in Alderson, WV and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1974 – 1977, stationed at Quantico, VA as a weapons instructor for junior officers. Living in Northern Virginia, Don worked as an Operations Manager in corporate contract security, from which he retired in 2006.
He had a passion for sports from a very early age, pitching baseball with his uncles, followed by little league, junior high football and basketball, and playing junior varsity and varsity basketball his sophomore year. He played basketball during some of his Marine Corps years, as well.
Donald touched and enriched so many people’s lives and helped so many with their own personal struggles in West Virginia, Northern Virginia, California, and Florida — that had become his mission during his nearly 30-year membership in the fellowship of Bill W’s friends.
He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Cindi of Edinburg, VA; mother, Mabel Doggett of Alderson, WV; sons, Robbie of Alderson, WV, and Brett of Edinburg, VA; daughter, Nichole Berridge (Matt) of Dumfries, VA; sister, Betty Doggett Redden of Charleston, WV; uncle, John Falls (Linda) of Falls Church, VA; aunt Linda Dennison (Jeff) of Stafford, VA; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and long-time childhood friend, Wayne Burdette (Pat) of Alderson, WV.
His wishes were to be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held on May 22, 2021 at Stuart’s Smokehouse and Seafood Restaurant at 2 p.m. in Alderson, WV.
In keeping with State mandate, please don’t forget your mask!
