CHARMCO, W.Va. (WVDN) – A Greenbrier County man was arrested early Thursday, June 26, after allegedly threatening to set fire to his belongings during a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, according to the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a reported domestic incident at approximately 1:46 a.m. on June 26 at a residence in Charmco.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with Eric Scott, who allegedly admitted to arguing with his girlfriend. During the dispute, Scott said he told the victim he would “burn it all down” and then poured alcohol on his belongings in the middle of the camper they both occupied, according to the complaint.

The victim reportedly confirmed the incident to deputies and added that the victim had made similar threats in the past, including multiple threats against her life.

Scott was taken into custody without further incident. He was charged with domestic assault and transported to Southern Regional Jail to await arraignment by a magistrate.

No injuries or property damage were reported. The incident remains under investigation
