ALDERSON W.Va. (WVDN) – Alderson is buzzing with anticipation as it prepares for its annual 4th of July celebration, promising a jam-packed week of events for all ages. From thrilling races and live music to traditional parades and a highly anticipated rubber duck race with substantial prizes, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this charming riverside town.

Kick-Off the Festivities with the Youth Bicycle Race!

The excitement begins even before July with the Youth Bicycle Race, presented by the Tri-County Volunteer Fire Company. This beloved community tradition is set for Saturday, June 28, at 9 a.m. Young cyclists will gather at the corner of Elmwood Avenue and Virginia Street, directly adjacent to the Alderson Elementary playground. Registration opens bright and early at 8 a.m. Kids aged 4 to 12 can participate across three age divisions: 4-6 years, 7-9 years, and 10-12 years. The stakes are high, with the top-ranking boy and girl in each division winning a brand new bicycle! All young riders will receive a free helmet (while supplies last) and enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks. Parents are reminded that an adult must be present with each child for the duration of the race. Get those bikes tuned up and helmets ready for a morning of fun and friendly competition!

Independence Day Kicks Off with a Run, a Parade, and More!
