A Life Rooted in Love,
Creativity, and Community
Patricia “Patty” Ann Plumley, 81, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025. Born on September 25, 1943, in Greenbrier County to the late Harry S. Gregory and Edith Sydenstricker Gregory, Patty remained a proud and devoted resident of Greenbrier County throughout her life.
A graduate of Lewisburg High School and Greenbrier Girls College, Patty began her professional career with the Department of Transportation in Lewisburg, before becoming an administrative assistant at The Greenbrier Hotel. In 1982, after marrying her high school sweetheart, Chuck Plumley, she joyfully retired to focus on her family and her many creative and personal pursuits.
Patty was a gifted craftswoman, known for her beautiful quilts, intricate cross-stitching, and an ever-growing collection of handmade projects. She found joy in gardening and was an active member of the Blue Bell Garden Club, where she shared her love of flowers and plants with like-minded friends.
Devoted to her community, Patty volunteered at the Shepherd’s Center and was a faithful member of Old Stone Presbyterian Church. She also had a deep appreciation for travel and was fortunate to explore much of the world, including memorable visits to England, Germany, Scotland, Iceland, and France.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Chuck Plumley of Lewisburg; her son, Andy (Sarah) Easton of Lewisburg; and two stepdaughters, Andrea and Karen (John), both of Virginia Beach, VA. Patty was a proud grandmother to Samantha, Daniel, Mia, and Parker Easton, all of Lewisburg, and step-grandmother to Joseph of Brooklyn, NY, and Courtney Graver (Brian Schwartz) of Virginia Beach. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister, Stella (Joe) Gregory Ferrino of Detroit, MI.
Above all, Patty cherished time spent with her family and her close circle of women friends, whose company brought her years of joy, laughter, and companionship. Her life was a testament to kindness, creativity, and heartfelt connection, and her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
