PHILADELPHIA (WVDN) – Matthew Sloan, D.O., graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree on May 22, 2025. Doctor Sloan received the Frederic H. Barth Memorial Award, which is awarded to a graduate for excellence in the field of bronchopulmonary and upper respiratory disease.
Sloan earned his Bachelor’s degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and a Master’s of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Greenbrier East High School in Lewisburg. Matthew is the son of Bruce and June Sloan of Lewisburg.
Doctor Sloan, who is a member of the United States Navy, will complete his residency in Internal Medicine at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA.
