WEST VIRGINIA (WVDN) – New River Community and Technical College has announced the hiring of Brad Mankins as the new Director of Facilities and Safety.

Mankins joins the college with nearly 30 years of experience in leadership, law enforcement, and public safety. His extensive background includes serving as Deputy Superintendent and Lieutenant Colonel with the West Virginia State Police, where he oversaw agency-wide operations and supervised more than 1,000 employees.

Throughout his career, Mankins has demonstrated strong executive leadership, crisis management, and interagency coordination. His experience in public safety operations, large-scale event security, and facilities oversight uniquely positions him to lead New River CTC’s efforts in maintaining a safe and efficient learning environment.

“Brad brings with him a deep understanding of safety operations and leadership that will be essential to enhancing our campus infrastructure and safety protocols,” said Dr. Bonny Ball Copenhaver, President of New River CTC. “We’re excited to welcome him to the team.”

Mankins is a graduate of Marshall University with an associate degree in Police Science and a distinguished alum of the FBI National Academy. He has been recognized with multiple commendations for outstanding service, including the United States Navy Achievement Medal and the FBI National Academy Outstanding Leadership Award.
