Mount Hope, W.Va. (WVDN) – The grand opening of Basement Dwellers is set for noon Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 117 Colt Industrial Drive, Mount Hope, W.Va. Owner Charles “Buddy” Perry invites the community to visit his business featuring custom 3D printing, gaming and TCG events, as well as collectibles.

Perry said he wanted to give the community a fun and safe place to share their love of all things nerdy. “Nothing is too outlandish in your own basement, so we brought the shop to life   to share with the community.”

Perry will be serving Hilltop Coffee Company products and other refreshments. He is also offering Grand Opening sales and encouraging members of the military, Veterans, police and firefighters to participate for additional discounts.

With more than 20 years in trading cards as a hobby, Perry wants to share his passion with others. He also brings new and innovative printing techniques to the 3D printing world. “I believe I can help shape this new passion of mine and help the community out,” he said.

Perry and Basement Dwellers are a client of the West Virginia Hive. Perry said, “The WV Hive, namely our business advisor, Devon Fitzgerald, has been with me every step of the way. I appreciate them showing me the process of a successful business plan and helping me plan   for a Grand Opening.” Devon says, “Buddy’s enthusiasm and creativity are the heartbeat of Basement Dwellers, and we’re proud to have supported his journey in turning a lifelong passion into a vibrant space for the community to connect and geek out.”

When asked to offer an insightful quote he appreciates, Perry favors a line from standup comedian Mitch Hedburg: “An escalator can never break: It can only become stairs.”
